Mobile Hotspots are here!
A hotspot is a pocket-sized device that can be used almost anywhere* to get a wireless signal and connect any Wi-Fi enabled mobile device, laptop computer, smartphone, tablet, etc. to the Internet. We now offer hotspots for your borrowing, traveling, and surfing pleasure!
Our hotspots use the T-Mobile network. (Click here to check T-Mobile's coverage map.) Average 4G LTE download speeds are between 6 – 8 Megabits per second (Mbps), but performance varies higher and lower depending on a variety of factors. There is no cap on total bandwidth use.
THE FINE PRINT:
*A strong cellular signal is needed; if you're in a location where you do not get cell phone service, the mobile hotspot will not work either.

- Stop by the Main Circulation desk to borrow a hotspot for 1 week.
- Hotspot borrowers must be 18 or older.
- Hotspots must be borrowed and returned in person at the Bolton Public Library during operating hours. They cannot be shipped to or from other libraries, nor can they be returned in our book drop.
- Each of our hotspots powers up to 10 devices, so there is a limit of ONE hotspot per household.
- When a device is overdue, it will be turned off immediately. Please be courteous to other users and bring the device back on time.
